During the Bush 43 years, the words “Nazi” and “Adolf Hitler” were bandied about by both sides.  Even I succumbed a couple of times to my own chagrin.  Even today, the Reich Wing continues the practice.

That said, because of the way Fox News is operating these days, I am reminded of a report that was compiled on Hitler by the OSS (Office of Strategic Services) during World War II.  It said, in part:

His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.

That really describes the Faux News Channel and their actions when it comes to Climate Change.

• • Never allow the public to cool off:
    To please their corporate masters and other polluters of the earth, seas, and skies, Fox News pollutes the airwaves with their consistent propaganda for the deniers.  They hold on to the topic like a police dog on a fugitive’s ankle.
  • Never admit a fault or wrong:
    When was the last time Fox lead a program with a retraction?  Even when they’ve been proven wrong, they simply manipulate the data to make it seems as if they were tricked or that the truth is actually a lie.
  • Never concede that there may be some good in your enemy:
    Whether it’s Al Gore or Bill Nye the Science Guy.  News for Dumb FUX only reports what they want after it has been filtered enough to make Mother Theresa look like a crack whore.  Why take the chance of your audience awakening from their trance long enough to find a new source for news?
  • Never leave room for alternatives:
    This is one they mastered during the days of Hannity and Colmes.  Why bring on someone who can make you look like an idiot when you can bring in some half-assed clown to play the part of the loyal opposition?
  • Never accept blame:
    This is where the OSS started getting redundant.  This should have been part of the “never admit a fault or wrong.”
  • Concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong:
    Because they’re a 24-hour news propaganda channel, they can ignore this rule, but as a rule of thumb, anytime they try to debunk climate change (such as the recent Washington, DC blizzard), their go to fall guy has been Al Gore.
  • People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it:
