Preponderance of the evidence shows …
This past Tuesday, the National Climate Data Center issued a report that reported that the ten years from 2000 to 2009 had the highest average temperature since man started keeping that data over 100 years ago. During those ten years, the average temp was almost an entire degree warmer than the previous record of 0.56° set between 1990 to 1999. In other words, it almost doubled. The record before that was set in the ’80s, the one before that was in the ’70s and the ten year span that started this new streak of records was from 1960 to 1969. In other words, since 1960, the Earth has continued to get warmer and warmer
Yes, we’ve had some cold temperatures, but averages do not lie.
The vast majority of scientists – that is scientists who actually use science to back their claims – are saying the rise can be attributed to man, mostly through the release of carbon dioxide and other gases that can trap heat in the atmosphere. The vast majority of that has been because of burning fossil fuels.
Larry McKenna, a professor at Massachusetts’ Framingham State College department of physics and earth sciences, was asked how sure he was that human are the culprits.
“”How certain do you want to be? We’re getting up to the 99 percent level.”
But Robert, surely one degree Fahrenheit can’t be that serious.
I suppose it depends on how you look at it.
How much heat produced energy does it take to raise a cup of water by 0.96°? Now, how much more does it take to raise the water temperature in a swimming pool? The larger the heat target, the more power it takes exponentially. And now, we’re talking about the average temperature of the entire planet Earth!

One degree is very serious! Whether it is man made, natural or both, it is happening. I have been warning myself since 2970 and give up, these idiots hare and around the world just want someone else to try and fix it while they stay the course!
the deniers can deny all they want – their grandkids will bear the brunt of their stupidity and ignorance – we are destroying the only home we can ever have, and there will come a time before we even realize it – that the damage will not be reversible
It’s human nature to wait until the very last minute to react to a disaster. The problem is that there is a tipping point at which nothing we do will prevent a disaster. My issue with these people are that if you spend just a little bit on energy savings now you will save hundreds in not thousands of dollars down the road. That alone should be motivation enough.
